Everyone likes to find special spots where they feel at peace, places where they can sit and dream, hope and plan for the future. This is one of the places I found on our Kerala trip, a lovely spot no matter what time of the day it was. I took this in the afternoon, when it was quite hot and bright, and took several shots from here early morning at sunrise too and at both times, the feeling of this space was really great. Enjoy!

I love changing stuff around the house and lately my eye has been on getting something different, maybe one of these tv stands or a wall mount which will free up the space on the console for the music system and other things. I remember when we moved in, there seemed to be so much space in the unit and how soon it has filled up and is now overflowing! We got the console close to two years back and I think it really is time for a change of display as well as a change of TV which will be more suited for wall mounting. Despite the slowdown, many retailers seem to be offering some really great discounts for trade-ins, and I think I will be investigating a bit further on these lines!

Since I’ve written about weight loss options several times on this blog, I get asked a lot of questions as to what the best weight loss supplements are and I must say that I can only answer as to the best of my ability, which does not have any medical knowledge of such things. There is so much research on this and each one comes to a different answer, so it is important to see what suits you best, as per your doctor’s recommendations and not based on what I say. This is a matter of your health and can be long term, so think carefully, do your research and then go ahead.

Wanted to post this before the weekend, or rather before you made plans for the weekend. Everyone’s always on the lookout for a good weekend break, and here are some free hotel rooms from Choice Hotels. Check out the full details on their site, but it definitely does not look like something that should be passed up. A lot of people have canceled their holidays due to the economic situation across the world, so if you’re getting a chance of a free stay then it’s something to be jumped at, right? And I’m sure lots of people will be doing just that!

The changing of the seasons is so short in this part of the world, that it often goes by without us even realizing. I love the transitions and wait for them each year, and try to relish them as much as possible. This shot was taken in January, when we have clouds and rain and the weather is absolutely fantastic.

If you’re traveling to San Diego, and looking for a great San Diego hotel, then this is a great place to start searching and probably end it too! I have found some really great hotels online and this is one of the ones that was recommended the most by visitors. San Diego is a great and very dynamic city, with lots of history but a great feel for modern art and architecture as well. This hotel is the perfect bridge between the two and is a great place for business travelers as well. Enjoy your stay!

One of the banes of frequent travelers is that they miss the little things they do at home on a daily basis, even something as small as watching your favorite show on TV every night, creating a nice comfortable routine of sorts. Well, now it is possible to watch your favorite shows no matter where you are with the Slingbox, which acts as a universal media player and lets you see your shows on your internet or on a TV, which ever way you like it. The Slingbox can be set up to watch videos from the Internet and relayed to your TV wirelessly. Compatible with standard as well as high-definition TVs, the Slingbox is a great addition to your home.

As bloggers, we all set out to share our view with the world, right? Whether it is a certain knowledge that we have or just general musings, we all have something to say. And having a platform to have something to say is very important, even though we know that there might not be too many people listening or reading, but having a voice is important. On the flip side, is the need to get comments, for some it is the most important reason to blog, to be appreciated, to be validated, while for others it is just another byproduct of the blogging game. I’ve seen lots of bloggers who never respond to comments, and those who reply meticulously to each and every one. I’m neither actually, comments are fine but they are certainly not the reason for blogging for me. If you have something interesting to say, only then say it, else just enjoy the reading!

Some time back when we had a bit of Internet problem, the technician said that what we needed was a Linksys router which would be able to solve all our problems. Our last service provider had provided us with one and we never had any trouble with it at all, and so it was reassuring to hear that this company felt the same way about them as well. Luckily for us it was easily available and was installed in no time. Just wish all technical problems go sorted out so easily!

Considering what has been happening in the global economy, a lot of people have been looking for jobs in unusual places and fields. One has to have a very open mind at times like these, I suppose. I did find a place where one can find jobs in banking though, so if that is your field or something that you’d like to do, then give it a shot. Do remember that since a lot more people are competing for jobs these days, you have to be on your toes, be confident and know all there is to know if your field. Good Luck!
