Many small merchants just do not see the need to switch to modern retail equipment, it seems. The benefits of having barcode scanners is so immense, yet many old-fashioned retailers feel that the system will be too complicated for them to handle themselves. It is true that a nominal amount of training would be required, but this far outweighs the benefits the store would get from installing such a system and keeping track of the inventory. Mismanagement of inventory is one of the places where a lot of managers and owners just take for granted, as it has been happening for a long time and will continue to happen, so why bother doing anything about it. There is, however, a huge difference, in sales, in shrinkage, in profits and long-term sustainability.

Waiting for our abra to cross the Dubai Creek from the Bur Dubai to the Deira side….when we went to explore the different souks….textile, spice, gold and so on. It’s a great way to explore the city, and these can be rented by the hour as well during the daytime, if you want it for yourself and want to see more of the city along the creek.

These days everything is on a herbal and organic streak! Almost every kind of food and medicine is now available as a herbal or organic variant, including these herbal appetite suppressant, which I found when searching for interesting examples to post here! I’m not sure if it really has any additional value or if it’s just a marketing gimmick, and my mind is more towards the latter, but who knows! When it comes to fresh fruit and vegetables, I’d rather buy local over organic, as the transport factor is where the product starts to deteriorate and by buying and consuming locally grown produce, one is sure to be eating healthier!

The credit card industry and all its related fields have really been hit quite bad since the economy went for a six! Support services such as credit report services however, are in high demand, although there is little that will really come from it. As the banks have cut back on lending, on credit cards, on any kinds of loans, there are fewer credit checks required, but as the number of defaulters is on the rise, they are seeing a larger number of requests on this front. According to some reports, the banks will soon open up lending again and authorising credit cards for consumers who still have good ratings.
