photo: last year this time

There’s something so magical about traveling, about seeing new places, about expanding one’s horizons. And for me ever since I got into photography, I love to spend time taking photographs on my trips, to document the places we visit, to make memories, to make things stand out from the rest and to be creative.

Here’s a shot that I took in Mussoorie in Uttrakhand last September.

looking to renovate?

The recession has impacted the real estate and construction industry almost as bad as the financial sector, but as things look up again, albeit slowly, sales for things such as Hansgrohe faucets and other plumbing accessories are looking up again. The recovery is not over, and the climb so far has been very slow, which is likely to continue to do so, but as long as people are starting to build and renovate again, it’s a good sign for the future. A sign that things will surely be back to normal one day soon.

Motorhome vacations

As more and more people change the kind of vacations they take, there has been an increase in rentals of RVs and motorhomes in the US. Along with their increase, so has the need for motorhome insurance increased and a greater number of vacationers are trying out different ways to take vacations. It’s always good to experiment and make changes, or one can often get stuck in a rut, not that one needs a recession as a reminder to make changes, one should make them ourselves. But as vacations go, while the industry has been impacted, things are slowly looking up again.

september is good

So glad that September is racing by so quickly. It’s hard to belive that soon it will be October and the end of the year. One can already tell how the weather is changing here. It’s suddenly no longer so hot or humid, the sky is bluer and there’s less of a haze, the birds sound so chirpy again and the park sounds so appealing once more. We made an attempt to go after dinner one night last month, but it was so unbearable, that we ate an ice cream in the air conditioned restaurant at the park and came back home. This time we’re hoping we’ll be able to enjoy the weather again.

searching for something?

Thanks to the internet the field of research has really received a boost. People are more willing and interested in taking part in research assignments since it is so much easier to find information now, instead of having to go to the library and physically hunt for information. For example, if I had to do some research on apidexin, I’d first look for information online and only once I have exhausted the resources here would I attempt to go to the library to search for something that might not be available online. Of course, where the system really fails is in actual interviews, which one cannot rely on the internet and face-to-face talks are often the best way to get information.

Happy moving!

When it comes time to move home, I’m a serious believer in using moving companies. They really know what they’re doing and make the shift so much easier for you. And thanks to the internet they are so easy to find too. Just type in moving companies San Francisco and you’re sure to find lots of great options. We’ve used moving companies on several occasions when we have moved homes, sometimes within the same country, but for international moves too and thanks to them, the move was so much simpler. I really would do it no other way. There’s too much stress to deal with when one moves as it is, so to add to that just doesn’t make sense at all. Make your move a happy one by using a moving company.

new types of vacations

I’ve written about how the vacation scene has completely changed due to the economic situation before. More and more people are preferring to take holidays in their local area, so if you stay in Florida then orlando vacations will be your most popular choice. Often, the case is that many people prefer to swap locations and homes with people in a driving distance so that they have a place to stay, while they explore a new place and no extra cost but that of food and fuel. It’s an idea that is fast catching on, not only on the time share and house swapping websites, but also through word of mouth.

photo: blowing…

A little photo from my home. I love taking these simple shots at home, as a kind of visual diary, a way to look back and remember what I was doing, what I was reading, what I was baking and where I was traveling at the time. In a way it’s more satisfying than even blogging as the feedback is greater and more direct.

Enjoy!

on orlando vacations

The power of a vacation is such that it pulls at you and tugs you to take it or else! Lately, I’ve been reading about the number of people taking advantage of orlando vacations that have been advertised at amazing discounts. While many are vacationing in local area, most people in the States are making a concerted effort to vacation locally, and thanks to special discounts, Orlando is high up on the list of great vacation deals. What is so great about the Orlando area is that there is so much to do, as it has great conference facilities, amazing sporting options such as golf, fishing and so on and lots of shopping of course. So it works out as a destination that makes everyone happy!

on a supporting notebook

Both our laptops needed replacement in the past year and so far we’re both happy with our replacements. I have, however, been considering getting one of these netbooks as a support system when I am out of the house and don’t necessarily want to lug my laptop along. I got a slightly larger laptop this time around, it has a wider screen and a larger keypad, with enough space for the entire number pad as well, so I think having a notebook for outside is a good idea. Let’s see what I decide on.
