As better weather approaches, we are looking forward to spending more time outdoors, to get back to exploring the city and the country we live in and to enjoy some al fresco meals. Winters are a wonderful time here, with warm sunny days, which sometimes have a chilly breeze and cool nights. It is the beat time of the year and we look forward to these few months.

the right time?

There comes a time in everyone’s life, when it is essential to sort out one’s life and one’s finances, a time to think about things like term life insurance and so on. It’s always something that people want to put off for another time, to delay for a while since they don’t want to deal with things like that, but it really is just like any other investment of a sort and regardless of whether one uses it or not, it is something that all of us should do at some point or the other in our lives. I don’t think there’s any right time, but just the time that you think is right.

does anyone use the Yellow Pages anymore?

When it comes to advertising, I feel that the Internet has really changed pretty much everything there is about it. On the Internet, you can find a Tacoma car accident lawyer just as easily as a restaurant review and telephone number. This has changed how we live and work and most especially how we find things. There was a time that the Yellow Pages were everything to a business, but now while they are somewhat important, they have lost the edge that they had. Now most consumers just prefer to find what they need by searching online and if as a business owner you make the right switch, you will see the difference.

photo: the magic of morning light

Nothing like my morning walk to get me going and feeling energetic all day long. I don’t really mind waking up early, since I have a good incentive of finding sights like this on my walk and come back feeling refreshed and with a sense of accomplishment, however small that may be! I took this shot recently and it’s one of my favorites already, thanks to the way the light is falling on the wall.

planning for winter

As winters approach, and the days are getting shorter, it’s nice to make the home a bit more cozy and warm. Living in the desert means that the nights can get pretty chilly especially when the wind is blowing. I think something like heated mattress pads are a good way to keep warm and toasty in bed, since the night time temperatures can plummet quite a bit. In the warmth of the sun, the temps are wonderful and warm, but at night it can seem like an altogether different climate.

the right treatment?

The other day I was reading an article in the newspaper about how so many people are not able to get correct diagnoses for serious diseases that should be caught in the doctor’s office on the first visit. The article specially mentioned a patient with malignant Mesothelioma who visited a doctor several times without knowing what the problem was, or even that there was a problem. It sounds like a complete mismanagement to me, but it does not end on such a dire note. The patient did get the right treatment and is now doing well.

going car crazy?

I just don’t get what it is with people who buy cars and then get all into buying things for their cars. It seems to be a never ending process of all sorts of car accessories, regardless of whether they need them or not. Partly is due to the feeling that you will look cool and in the know, and we all know people will go to all sorts of lengths to look cool and hip. I remember once I bought my car, I didn’t buy much regarding cars or accessories for it…besides music I suppose. To each their own I suppose!

almost to the end of the year now

I can’t believe it’s nearing the end of the year so soon. Where has the year gone? Where has it just disappeared? Well, to be fair, I have done a lot this year, so that does count for a lot. I’ve had vacations, trips home, short trips and lots of interesting things happen, so it’s definitely going to be a year to remember. We’re planning our next vacation and it’s coming along nicely, something quiet this time around.

new age buildings

I’ve been seeing these shows on BBC about how they’re building the Olympic Park in London. It’s been a very interesting series, discussing the problems of moving people out of the area, building replacement buildings for them and the industries that have been shifted out and the progress of modern architectural materials, such as metal buildings and so forth. I’m not sure if they’re actually using them in the Olympic Park though. I’m looking forward to the completed result.

lost without a list

Do you make a list when you go out grocery shopping? I certainly do. If I don’t carry a list with me, I just can’t seem to remember anything that I need to buy at all. It seems all all just fly out of my head. So a list is a must, even though at times I add stuff to just check out such as asking about best under eye creams from the girl working at the cosmetics counter who seems to know a lot. I use the list not only as a reminder of things to buy but also of things to find out about. The point is without a list, I am lost!
