There was another article about the increase in jobs in today’s paper and one of the fields that led was healthcare, so say that if you’re on the lookout for Audiologist Jobs then it’s time for you to brush up your interview skills. Healthcare is one area that is looking to expand in almost all regions of the world, so jobs in this sector are definitely on the rise. Some time back there was a rush to hire healthcare workers, but that was limited to mid-level nurses and assistants, but now one is seeing a much broader range in requirements. It’s a good sign, maybe it will spread to other fields as well.

Sometimes when it’s crazy hectic in every direction I look, I long for retirement. I know it sounds a bit odd, but at times I just want the peace and tranquility one imagines that retired life would be. Well, it turns out that not all retired people live the quiet life, some really are hopping, doing more than they ever did in their working lives, or maybe they just saved it up for now, doing all the “work” earlier and keeping the “fun” for retirement!

One of the top destinations for retirees is of course, Florida! No guesswork there, the weather is fantastic, the activities endless, the options for sport and recreation simply amazing. And at the top of the list of retirees and visitors to Florida, is golfing. And just imagine living in one of these golf communities when you’re retired. It’s as close to paradise as possible, right! That’s if you’re a golfer of course. But even if you’re not, then you can enjoy the views and really, it would be the perfect place to learn the game as well. Living in one of the Florida Retirement Communities, would be a great way to kick-off one’s retirement, with the amazing options there seem to be available.

For me, I know I want golf to be part of my retirement plan. I love the game and wish I had more time to play like I did when I was living at home before I got married. The day’s plans used to revolve around golfing and the clubhouse, usually starting with breakfast before tee off and either lunch or dinner as well. So, to imagine living in a community surrounded by an amazing golf course, would of course be fantastic. On a more practical note, a place with complete access to health care is the ultimate in retirement living.

The retirement communities of Florida have made retirement seem like so much fun, which was not the case earlier. At one time, it revolved around sitting on the porch on a rocking chair, and boy oh boy, the resort like retirement communities of Florida like the Devonshire in Palm Beach Gardens are a world apart, providing the ultimate in luxury living for seniors. The one thing that I’d like is for someone else to take care of all my meals, so the mundane job of the day is not my worry. Which reminds me, any ideas on what I should make for dinner?

We all have a fascination towards ships and boats don’t we! Living in a new development has it’s ups and downs. I’ve written before about how the lack of retail options in the local area means that one has to go out for pretty much everything. Lately, though, things have been changing and lots of new retail stores have been opening, mostly restaurants but some other stores such as a tailoring shop, a photo shop, a barber etc. The problem is not lack of retail space, but the high rates that the developer wants for these spaces. As well as the fact they do not want any local or small scale grocery store to spoil the “look” of the neighborhood. And, that’s the whole problem, until one has these little corner shops, the simple laundries, and all the odds and ends stuff, a community is never really complete. One has to have the basics in the area itself for the people to feel that they don’t need to drive elsewhere, and can instead walk to get whatever they need. Yes, walking is what it’s all about. When you get people walking to do their errands, you develop a community. And I hope it happens soon.

Browsing through some papers I found that our insurance is expiring soon. I’ve been thinking that it’s time to change our insurance provider, looking as our priorities and requirements have changed in the past year. There are so many options that it just ends up being too confusing, and the costs, oh dear the costs seem to be skyrocketing. I think that there are many products that for some reason or the other attract the wrong sort of publicity, which is rather unfortunate, since they are providing a service, an important service at that, else they wouldn’t be around or be as popular. With the way the heat is these days, I’m dying for a getaway to a cooler place. Somewhere where there is snow would be my ideal choice actually. I’m dreaming of packing up for a road trip, loading the thule ski racks with our gear and hitting the road to the slopes. There is something so appealing about being in the snow, taking long walks, drinking hot chocolate, enjoying the slopes and much more. And all this somehow seems even more fun when it’s so hot right now. I think I must start planning for a cool vacation sooner than later.

Having access to credit is what is defining our lives today and differentiating it from those in earlier times.
