adding a little zing to a garden

I’m a big fan of garden rooms. I read about a UK based company called 3rd Space that makes modular garden rooms, which are flexible and adaptable to a variety of surroundings. Their modular designs are made to fit into the surroundings, even the teeny-tiny gardens, and come in C-shapes or L-shapes or those specified by order. Options include choices for standard room designs or selecting a more personal touch by adding windows or reducing them for privacy.

According to 3rd Space, the modular garden rooms have been designed so that customers can create their own customizations, such as adding extra bays and even making them easy to dismantle so that they can be moved without a problem. Usually they take 4-6 weeks for designing and delivery. Read more about it on Springwise.

sticking to what you know

Ok, just because I blog, I don’t necessarily claim to know everything about everything. I do however know some things about some topics. Retail is one of them, trends is another, but how a hydraulic cartridge works isn’t! I do love to find out how things work, but if I’m in over my head, I’ll be the first one to admit it and retreat. I mean, what’s the point of doing something just to score points, I’d much rather do things that I am passionate about, and that way, even half an effort made shows through the work so much more clearly. That’s really what you should do…stick to the things that you’re good at and be happy with that, instead of trying to offer something for everyone and failing everywhere.

keeping up with medical advances

With everyone living longer and longer, the kind of medical treatments that we now have weren’t possible or even needed a few decades ago. As medical technology advances, there are newer and newer solutions to medical problems and one which has really made a difference to the lives of many women is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement treatment that helps to balance the changes that take place in the body. Advances in the medical field have meant that there are so many options of treatment available now, so we have choices to make, and that means that we have to be smart about our decisions. Not only for our medical decisions, but for our lifestyle as well, the things that eventually turn into medical problems.

oh vacation time, I miss you

It’s been quite a while since we’ve taken a vacation and so we thought it’s high time that we think of places to go and book a trip before it’s too late to get reservations at all the good places. The one country that I’ve really been wanting to go to is Turkey. I’ve been fascinated with Istanbul for ages, and I really want to be able to go and explore the city and the souks and cafes. There is so much more to the country than Istanbul, but that’s what gets the most publicity and the rush of tourists, but I’d really like to go and spend a nice long vacation so we can take our time exploring the area. Traveling with a toddler is not for the fainthearted and I certainly don’t want to rush-rush from one place to another. Now, if only I could find 2 weeks off that both of us will have at the same time!

DIY sweepstakes for yourself!

Sometimes when I’ve done all my work and there’s nothing else pending for me to do I wander aimlessly for a bit on the Internet and usually stumble either onto a home decor site where I can lose myself seeing makeovers and DIY projects or to one of the sweepstakes sites where I am dazzled by the chance of winning some goodies. And by all the flashing lights from the page of course! If you really think about it, sweepstakes are for people who take chances, for people who never give up dreaming, in essence winners, since they will win either at the sweepstakes or in their daily lives. And often at both! I think being a diy sweepstakes winner would be rather awesome!

Winners are do-it-yourself kind of people who don’t wait for others to tell them what to do or how to make money. They make their own destiny by taking initiative and doing things that others might hesitate or might not even be able to think of. To be a winner you have to think out of the box, and if you’re trying to make ends meet, as is the case for so many people all across the world right now, you have to think of innovative ways to make money for yourself and your family. Winning the lottery is a dream for most people in the world, but really how many of them actually go and buy a ticket. And the ones that do, how often do they repeat that action? I mean, you’re not going to win the lottery by buying just one or two tickets in your whole life. Most winners have been buying for years on end. They might have been buying just a basic one, but at least they kept at it and that’s where the balance tilts.

I rather like the diy life, although I’m really not that good at a lot of things, but that’s the thing with diy, you can hope to improve with each new project you take on! Entering the sweepstakes is remarkably similar, in the sense that your chances at winning keep on improving with time. And who doesn’t like freebies! Not me.

Remote access to improve productivity

If you’re a frequent traveler like me, you’re going to love this tip. Using a software that allows you remote access to your PC from anywhere in the world is going t make your life much simpler. All you need to have is an internet connection and you never need to worry if you need some important data that is only stored on your office or home computer. Most companies don’t charge too much, usually less than USD 10 a month along with a 30-60 day free trial, so you can test the system out at ease. For small business owners who doesn’t want to invest too heavily in additional systems, this is a great way to improve productivity. Several companies offer additional features such as a remote meeting option for up to 10 users, who can share the same desktop, making traveling for meetings obsolete.

Looking for a photo booth rental in Los Angeles

We all want our parties to be memorable, don’t we! I certainly do! I want to try to do something different with my parties each time, especially when we have an occasion to celebrate. Making the food special or having several types of cuisines only goes so far, I mean, hasn’t everyone already done that? I’d rather try out something different like renting a photo booth so that guests can take their own photos which can be printed immediately. How cool is that! Yes, I thought so too.

Finding a Photo Booth Rental Los Angeles is one of the best ways to make your party special if you live in the area. The whole idea of Capture Pod is great, since it’s a concept that everyone is familiar with, something that everyone associates with fun anyway, but this is taking it in a whole new sense, by bringing it into your party environment. For an event such as a child’s birthday party or a wedding anniversary or a wedding, renting a photo booth is a really good idea to make it more fun, more memorable and to document it as well. The photos work as great keepsakes for the guests too.

Too often photos at parties the lighting is not the best for photos, nor is it flattering to even the most pretty people, but in a controlled environment such as a photo booth, the lighting and camera equipment is at the professional level. Printing photos is a breeze as well. These photos might even come out better than the celebrity ones you see in the Los Angeles Times. Putting a party together is much easier than making it memorable, but the photo booth pod is likely to take a party over to the next level. And that’s a pretty simple way to manage to do it, don’t you think!

unplug when you check in

We all like to be connected at all times don’t we! Connected to our work, to our friends, to our families, to our employees, via a whole variety of contraptions. I find it just too much every once in a while and like to get away from it all by turning it all off for a day or two. That’s exactly what the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel is offering. A little time away from all your connections, with its Zen and the Art of Detox package, where you have to hand over all cell phones, laptops and other digital devices when you check in. You have instead a wide choice of literary classics to replace the television, as well as kayak lessons nearby. Prices for the detox weekend range from USD 199 to USD 399 per night, valid till 25th September. Read more about it on Springwise.

tools to assist working from home

Working from home as so many advantages, that it’s hard to keep count. On the other hand, there are some disadvantages too, such as having to take care of all the administrative work oneself, without the support of the usual staff. I have been working to create a routine where I can use systems such as a document imaging software to handle several of my usual requirements of sending documents to the office and to clients as well. It’s been quite a godsend, and just by having such a system, I’ve been able to do a lot of the boring and time-consuming administrative work with relative ease.

Lately, there have been several innovative products on the market that reduce the work of employees working from home, since it’s such a rising phenomenon, and one that is likely to continue for a while. The contribution of workers from home is often higher than regular workers, since they usually put in longer hours, to compensate for working from home. It’s an odd situation since one often starts to work from home to avoid the long commute or to be at home for the kids, but in the end one is putting in hours earlier than regular office workers as well as later in the night too.

planned roadtrips or spontaneous ones?

Well, the summer is over and it’s time to relive those awesome summer vacation memories. Some of my favorite trips have been the numerous road trips we have taken over the summers, everything from rv trips that involve lots of planning and getting some rv insurance ahead of a trip, to last minute road trips that you make on the spur of the moment, fueled by the excitement and energy that these trips create. I love both kinds of trips, and we’ve had lots of both kinds of trips, so lots of road trip memories. I’m a master planner, so the planned trips are perfect for me, since I enjoy the planning almost as much as the trip itself. We’ve got some holidays coming up, so I hope to be planning another trip soon!
