using rechargeable batteries instead

Ever since my daughter reached the stage of toys that sing and dance for her, I’ve been buying batteries left, right and center. I buy them by the cart-full it seems, but they are never enough and finish off way too soon. So, instead of giving the battery manufacturers a further boost in sales, I’m planning to get some of these rechargeable aa batteries that will make my life a bit easier and save me some money as well. For all aspect of our lives, we need to change how we live and work and play, so why not this. We use rechargeable battery packs for so many of our small appliances, so why not use them in traditional batteries as well. It’s the way of the future, the less waste we produce the better off we are.

stroller confusion?

There’s nothing more exciting than doing some shopping for an impending baby is there! For us too, it was an exciting time before our baby was born last year, but I do remember how confused I was about several major purchases, not knowing what factors exactly I needed to be looking at when it came to buying a stroller. Should I buy one with an accompanying car seat, or one that fit a generic one, or one that didn’t take a car seat at all? Should I buy a stroller with those big wheels that make it easy to manoeuvre, but what about the weight? Would I be able to lift it by myself back and forth from the trunk of the car? I wish I had found this site where the bob revolution has all the things that I was looking for and more. The stroller we eventually bought is great and has worked really well for us, but it’s not a jogger and that would have been a nice option.

expedia deals on facebook!

Traveling is always fun isn’t it, especially the planning and anticipation part. I love to plan my trips, even before we have anything concrete in terms of dates and days. It’s just nice to find nice options of places one can go to and places to stay and I find that I always get great ideas on Expedia. What I’ve done is that I’ve liked the Expedia uk facebook page, so I keep getting their updates and now can file away ideas on places to go and places to stay.

Everyone likes to do different things on their vacations. Some people like to see every museum and historical building there is to be seen, but for us, we like to explore the city, not just as tourists but as travelers, eating at places where the locals eat, and staying at smaller but more personalized places, which are sometimes really hard to find. And so far, I’ve found some great little gems of places in Prague, Berlin and Marrakesh, which I have filled away for whenever we actually plan the trip. Not only are there lots of reviews of cities and things to do as well, to help you decide where to go and when the best time to visit is as well, but lots of deals as well. I was so very tempted with some of the current deals on offer, since we have a long weekend coming up early next month and it would be great to go on a quick trip. Let’s see :-)

a retail upswing?

The retail scene looks like it’s picking up again. There are so many new stores opening up again and many are expanding to newer malls as well. In one of the local malls, some stores that are doing well are taking over space from the non-performers. In some cases, it’s just a case of bad location, but many successful stores who are able to draw customers are opting for lower profiles walkways in the malls, as a counter balance for the higher profile locations. It’s all a question of understanding what customers want and unfortunately, customers can be fickle at times. The trick is to not put all your eggs in one basket, to balance some high profile locations with other locations that don’t cost a bomb but are still effective in terms of profits. Most retailers, for example, send the bulk of their sale and discounted stock to a low profile location, so that it’s high end store is not filled with old merchandise, and so both high and low end stores will end up being winners and pulling in different categories of customers. Understanding who shops where and why is key.

Auto rickshaw via SMS bookings

Sometimes getting a taxi or auto is just too time-consuming. And when one is in a city like Mumbai, then moving around using public transport can be trying, unless you’re using the cute little auto rickshaws that manage to get through all the little nooks without any problem. Now there is an even more incentive to use auto rickshaws, and that is sms booking! Started by a group of transport, technology and logistic professionals, Rickshawale offers a reliable service to book auto rickshaws 24hrs a day with a customer service agent who notifies the closest auto rickshaw, who all have tracking devices. Drivers can then accept the job by pressing a button on the device, which then automatically sends an SMS to the customer with the auto drivers name, contact number and the registration number of the auto rickshaw. Fares are at standard rates, so you don’t pay more for the service.

targeting “wealthier” customers

Retail in this part of the world is constantly changing business. One day it’s all about opening stores in the older, more congested parts of town offering competitive prices and discounts and another day it’s about a stores targeting the wealthier parts of town, even announcing that they will be charging higher prices, and that the wealthier customers will be happy to pay for the convenience. I say, that’s quite a silly strategy. I mean you have to be competitive and offer good prices, else no one, no matter how rich will come to shop at your store. Really, do they think that the rich got that way by wasting money by paying more for something that they could easily pay less on by going slightly further away. Not a chance. The wealthy are always shopping around for good deals, just as much as the budget conscious, and if you don’t understand that then, sorry, you’re just not going to make it in retail.

If you really want to open stores, in the “wealthier” parts of town, then make sure your merchandise matches the customers, and offer a greater variety of open kitchen items, where you can make a larger profit in comparison to branded merchandise. To me these seem like very basic things, not only because I have a background in retail, but I am a customer, just as you are, and you know why you shop at certain stores more than another one. Unless a store puts themselves in the place of it’s customers, it’s not going to get anywhere.

an outdoor weekend

Even though we live in the northern hemisphere, our seasons seem to match the southern hemisphere, which feels ever so odd. The end result is that while the rest of the northern hemisphere is gearing up for winter and snow, we are getting set for fun on the beach, camping in the desert, trekking in the mountains and definitely some atv fun. There have even been advertisements for atv sales and rentals and polaris ranger parts if something is required for your atv. There is something exciting about going on an atv on the dunes, by the beach. It’s a fun way to spend the weekend isn’t it! Our weekend is starting here and we’ve got lots of exciting plans for the weekend!

fun summer shopping

I love browsing through stores for fun stuff for my kitchen and my garden. These are two areas that it’s easy to pick up small things just for the heck of it, things that can beautify a garden and things of utility for the kitchen. In my mind, these are both guilt free shopping areas. There are some really cute items on sale at many online discount stores where you can find discounts of 10-25% to shoppers who purchases online. Most discount online stores don’t have any no minimum order, so you can get as little or as much as you’d like. I’ve got my eyes on this beautiful stained glass sun catcher, which looks like a wonderful addition to my mini-garden.

Looking for some Boca Raton Attorneys?

Now days one can find pretty much anything online, right! That’s the beauty of the system, that one can find something simple and also something serious as a law firm. Finding a lawyer is serious work, something that one should take one’s time over. So, where does one go to find a good lawyer? Well, be sure to right keywords to get the most accurate search results and of course look for referrals and reviews. Hiring a lawyer who has worked for someone is a definite advantage of course. One of the most common reasons to visit an attorney these days is for a divorce, although the types of divorce are changing, with something called a peaceful divorce catching on. This is a divorce without all the fighting, screaming and door slamming, I am told and more and more people are opting for these, since they are less stressful and easier to deal with.

Finding a good divorce lawyer is one thing, but to find a lawyer who can deal with all other aspects of litigation as well. These days divorce cases seem to becoming more and more complicated and it only makes sense to have all your bases covered by getting an attorney who can not only handle all aspects of the case, but do it to win as well. That’s where these Boca Raton Attorneys come in since they are highly recommended by referrals as well as by experience. Established in 1990, these South Florida lawyers have been offering legal services in a variety of fields. Now I’m sure there are lot of other lawyers with good experience too, but if you take a look at the details not everyone would have experience with the Florida Bar. Finding a good attorney is not something one should take a chance with, so choose well.
