Sometimes, just a single bloom can make all the difference.
It’s not just about this bloom of bougainvillea, but about our little bloom, called Elisha, who is 4 and a half months old now. She is such a joy and our lives are changed thanks to her. I love watching her blossom and change every single day. It is one of life’s most beautiful and fulfilling moments. The simpler they are, the better and more prophetic.

A little photo from my home. I love taking these simple shots at home, as a kind of visual diary, a way to look back and remember what I was doing, what I was reading, what I was baking and where I was traveling at the time. In a way it’s more satisfying than even blogging as the feedback is greater and more direct.
Enjoy!

Odd as it is, I love waking up early when I am on vacation, as I don’t want to miss out on anything. The early morning light is always fantastic and it’s a great time to get some photographs as well, especially ones like these which are only possible early in the morning. I really relish my quiet and alone time in the mornings, whether I am at home or on vacation. This shot was taken on a morning walk in Mashobra in Himachal in India.

I’ve been gone for quite some time….the longest so far, but I’m back and looking forward to get back to the usual routine of working, blogging and so on. I find that a lot of people blogging seem to just lose steam after a while, and that has happened to me too….several times, and if one gives it a nice break, it’s always great to come back to it. I try to take a vacation away from all modern communication equipment each year…no cell phone, no internet, no television and it’s a great relief not to be “connected” just for a while. Try it out, I’m sure you’ll like it.

Well, I will be taking some time off this month, to travel, to relax, to catch up with friends and family. My last break was in March and even though it doesn’t seem too long back, I am so ready for a break from work and my routine. I’m looking forward to traveling a bit and hope to stay away from the laptop and computer for a while….a break is never a break if you keep logging on, is it? So, I really do like to have a week or ten days a year, where I completely switch off…the cell phone, the computer, the internet and so on….a total break from all communication, except with the people around me, the people that really matter.

The upside of taking so many photographs is that it has really opened up a whole new world for me, but the downside is that I’m running out of memory! Thankfully, this problem is easily fixable and something that is also rather affordable. It would be nice if other problems had such simple and accessible solutions too, wouldn’t it? Oh well, that is the way it is I suppose. When it comes to memory, one always thinks that the space is enormous and one will never manage to fill it up, but with media files and photographs the space fills up surprisingly fast. I do enjoy taking pictures a lot, so this is something that I have to take care of as well!

Lately I’ve been trying to take photographs that are bit different from my usual stuff. It is all too easy to get stuck in a rut and not even look for new angles and opportunities to take photographs. I’m very new to this, in fact my camera is a small and cute digital one, that is not manufactured by any of the camera greats, but I really have started to enjoy taking shots that are different, and not even necessarily pretty. Having this camera has opened up the world to me like never before, both physically and mentally and I can’t imagine why I didn’t get started earlier. Here’s one of the slightly different shots that I took some time back.

Well, I finally got my iPod that I’ve been planning and delaying for quite some time now and am busy uploading songs from my CDs. We also got the Bose SoundDock with it so we can have superb quality sound at home as well. My hubby go the iPod Shuffle to use while jogging but I’ve yet to upload any music on it as yet. I have lots of fun uploading 120 of my photos onto the iPod as well, and they look just so amazingly clear on the iPod screen, that I am quite amazed. So, that’s why I haven’t been posting here on a regular basis this past week. Got to catch up now!

I’ve been taking lots of architectural shots lately, but I didn’t even realize the trend until one of my flickr friends pointed it out to me in a comment. The thing is that I take photographs of interesting sights and objects so it all depends on what looks more appealing to you. At one time, it might just be flowers and fruits while at other times, it might be modern and abstract stuff. I really like this shot, since the light was quite magical, even though the shot is not perfect I think it has something different.
Enjoy!

Due to all the photos I have been taking and storing on my laptop, I’ve had to shuffle a few things around so that I don’t run out of space. I have even got myself some additional laptop memory just to safeguard against running short of space for my work, while my photographs take up all the space on my laptop. Well, it’s not going to happen like that, since I have already made arrangements for it. It really is the simplest thing in the world to get stuff for your laptop or computer, all it takes is some basic amount of technical know-how and logical problem solving capabilities. If you don’t have that, then get a friend to help you get sorted out and you’ll be all set.
