Winter is here and even though we have such a great sunny winter, sometimes I do miss the cold and chilly weather too. And snow too. It’s been ages since we had a winter with snow, and at times I do miss the beauty of snow. I miss how quiet it can get when it snows, hushing everything, enveloping us in a lovely kind of quiet beauty. It all came back to me when I happened to see a photo of these glacier sunglasses that reminded me of the days when we saw nothing but snow for days on end and had to have a pair of good sunglasses to cut the glare. I didn’t think I’d remember these things from such a long time ago.

Having a collision of any sort is bad enough, but to go through all the hassles of getting it fixed can sometimes make it even worse. Finding the right person to give you an accurate estimate can sometimes seem like finding a needle in a haystack, so the best solution is a auto collision estimating software sorts your collision problems in one go. And accurately too. It’s the best thing to happen if you have a collision, I suppose. But now that I’ve written about all this, I hope I don’t have to use it anywhere to soon! Things happen like that don’t they, when you think all is running nicely and smoothly, all of a sudden you hit a speed bump.

Christmas time is almost here. We’re counting down to it, and all around us are little reminders of the season. Even though we live in the desert, we have a good amount of Christmas spirit going on here, with lots of seasonal gifts to go with the season. My favorite way to celebrate it, is to be a bit creative about a tree and all the other ornaments etc. Instead of the usual tree, we’re going to make something creative and just be different. It will work well, since our surroundings are not the usual traditional ones. I haven’t decided exactly how we’re going to create this innovative and creative tree, just that I am. It’s good to push oneself to be creative isn’t it!

Getting gifts is always great isn’t it! Gift giving is much harder of course, and it makes you realize how much time and effort other people might have put in to find that perfect gift for you. And when it comes to Christmas gifts, one has to have not only a gift or two for each person but also things for the stockings. These might look like really simple gifts, but to be a good one, it has to be inventive and a bit quirky too. These days, I think getting some coins might be a fun idea. If you were to buy silver coins then that itself would be part of the novelty, since it’s not something that one does very often is it! I like the idea of giving and getting memorable gifts, things that people will remember for a long, long time, instead of buying expensive gifts.

While this trend was at it’s peak a few years back, now it has been picking up steam again. Maybe something to do with the economy and the way that people are trying to make money in inventive ways. Believe it or not, but there are sites that offer cash to customer simply for doing their regular online shopping through them. CashbackToYou is one of the leading online cash back shopping sites since 2001 and has built its reputation on the superior standards and by taking care of their customers. The way they work is refreshingly simple and all that you have to do is to sign up at the site and then go about your shopping in the usual way. Your transactions are tracked and your earned ‘cashback’ amount is credited to your account in about a week. The shopping offers available range from broadband to computer equipment to camping gear and clothing. After GBP25 in cashbacks you can withdraw it using either a cheque or PayPal. Even better yet, you will earn GBP5 for each friend that you refer and can also earn free cash by taking part in special coupons and trials.

I always, always like to have an extra pair or two of sunglasses. Sometimes, it’s just as simple as changing my mind on which one I want to use or sometimes it’s about just having an extra pair in case I lose my first or break them. It’s the simplest of ways to change your look, with just a switch of glasses, you can make yourself look different. So, the thing is that even though I am so sure about this, I just couldn’t find my pair of extra sunglasses. I looked everywhere, the place where I usually keep them, along with all the places where they really shouldn’t be, but who knows how things up in different places, and still I couldn’t find them. Then, one day, when I was looking for my scarf, I found the glasses entangled with them. Yay, finally! So, maybe they’re not fancy Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses or anything like that, but they sure are a nice pair of extra sunglasses to have. And they’re brand new, a gift that I still haven’t started using!

There is never a better time to travel. I know, the economy is still a bit unstable, but that’s what makes it more interesting as well. Traveling at this time means that you really have to make the most of it, to really relish it since you might not be able to take another vacation for a while, and so make it memorable. And to do it well you have to be creative about how you’re going to go and save some money while you travel. Yes, really save some money as well. It’s called Home Exchange and it’s the best way to go see the world. In fact, it’s one of the fastest growing segments of the travel market, since it’s such an affordable way to travel and is very well suited to families who are not too keen on a hotel set up.
Interestingly, the home exchange market has really picked up with niche segments, like families with children and with clergy sabbaticals, for a trip for the whole family, since you’re living in a real home, and can really settle in, even visit the local church and not just feel like a guest. I think that’s what really makes the difference in vacations, when you’re able to really just relax and enjoy. I’ve browsed through some of the home exchange sites and a lot of them seem to be charging just for listing your property or doing an exchange, which is not always fair, and isn’t the way ChristianHomeExchange.com functions. Here the listings are free and the selections are very well suited for people looking to swap homes for a vacation.
In a home exchange scenario, select a home that you feel will fit your needs as well as for your swap guest. Often you can get to use the vehicle when you do a home exchange, so you might not even have to rent a car at your destination. It seems like a win-win situation on all fronts, so why not try it out. I’m keen on it!

Did you know that there was a program that allowed website owners and bloggers to run their own advertising network? I didn’t, and was excited to read about AdQuick a PHP script that is an AdBrite Clone PHP Script and lets you run an advertising network for your sites. How it works is that once you install the system on your sites, potential advertisers can look though the AdQuick website to find which website they would like to place an ad on. Website owners have complete control over which ads they want to display and for how long. It looks like a great system and I think I’m going to look into it for myself.

Ever since my daughter reached the stage of toys that sing and dance for her, I’ve been buying batteries left, right and center. I buy them by the cart-full it seems, but they are never enough and finish off way too soon. So, instead of giving the battery manufacturers a further boost in sales, I’m planning to get some of these rechargeable aa batteries that will make my life a bit easier and save me some money as well. For all aspect of our lives, we need to change how we live and work and play, so why not this. We use rechargeable battery packs for so many of our small appliances, so why not use them in traditional batteries as well. It’s the way of the future, the less waste we produce the better off we are.

There’s nothing more exciting than doing some shopping for an impending baby is there! For us too, it was an exciting time before our baby was born last year, but I do remember how confused I was about several major purchases, not knowing what factors exactly I needed to be looking at when it came to buying a stroller. Should I buy one with an accompanying car seat, or one that fit a generic one, or one that didn’t take a car seat at all? Should I buy a stroller with those big wheels that make it easy to manoeuvre, but what about the weight? Would I be able to lift it by myself back and forth from the trunk of the car? I wish I had found this site where the bob revolution has all the things that I was looking for and more. The stroller we eventually bought is great and has worked really well for us, but it’s not a jogger and that would have been a nice option.
